A Surprise for our Pre-K Students!

by Tino Laterza, Events & Development Specialist

On Monday, November 25, our Vincent House pre-k students had a bit of a surprise. Laura Hand, a recently retired reporter from CNYCentral, and her emotional support therapy dog, Moose, paid a visit to one of our pre-k class. Laura comes into our Vincent House classes every other week to teach the students various lessons and teach them how to treat animals using her registered ESA dog for hands on experience for the students.

This time, Laura Hand also showed the students how knitted and crocheted hats and scarfs were made. Following this lesson, Laura had crocheted hats that were made and donated by a local Syracuse resident for the students. They were able to pick out their favorite one and keep it, but only after they said what color it was!
