Diocesan Deacon and Leader in Finance Joins Catholic Charities’ Board of Directors

Catholic Charities is pleased to have Deacon Matthew Lumia join its Board of Directors. In addition to serving as a deacon within the Syracuse Catholic Diocese, he currently holds the position of chief financial officer at Mohawk Global, a supply chain solutions and trade logistics company headquartered in North Syracuse.

With over 30 years of global, financial, and operational management, Deacon Lumia has worked with and led a wide range of organizations, public, private closely held, and non-profit, across different industries including, construction, manufacturing, real estate management, and professional consulting services. Deacon Lumia’s organizational and leadership skills enable him to get productive and sustained results in a wide variety of business settings and challenges.

Deacon Lumia earned a B.B.A. in Accounting from Siena College and is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

He is an active member in the Central New York community. He is a graduate of Leadership Greater Syracuse and past board member at Francis House. Deacon Lumia also currently serves on the boards of the Samaritan Center, where he is a past board president, the Syracuse Catholic Diocese Foundation and Finance & Treasury Committee.
