Monsignor Neal Quartier
 
Rector, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception
Msgr. Neal Quartier, Ph.D., LCSW, BCD, is currently the Rector of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. A native of Syracuse, Msgr. Quartier grew up on the Northside of Syracuse, second of five children of John and Elizabeth Quartier, and attended St. John the Baptist parish and school. Ordained in 1976, Msgr. Quartier has served as Parochial Vicar at St. John’s Church in New Hartford, N.Y., Parochial Vicar at Christ the King Church in Liverpool, N.Y., and Chaplain at SUNY Upstate Medical Center. In addition to his current position of Vicar, he also serves as Director of the Personal Resource Center for the Diocese of Syracuse, and previously served as Director of Seminary Formation. Msgr. Quartier holds degrees from Wadhams Hall Seminary, St. Barnard’s Theology, Syracuse University, and the University of Southern California. He currently serves on the Franciscan Board, the YMCA Board of Directors, and the Le Moyne College Board of Trustees. His hobbies include traveling, reading, and movies.

Hank Centore
Retired, Former Owner of Centore’s Mens Shop 
Hank Centore is a lifelong resident of Syracuse. A graduate of Most Holy Rosary School and attendee of Le Moyne College, Mr. Centore owned and operated the family business, Centore’s Mens Shop and Formal Wear, for 51 years. Being involved in the Syracuse community is near and dear to Hank’s heart. He began volunteering for the Oxford Inn Breakfast Program in 1989. He is a member of the Ignatian Volunteer Corp, and a volunteer at Catholic Charities’ Emergency Services Food Pantry. In addition, he is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Providence Apartments and Bishop Ludden Apartments. Hank has received numerous awards and honors including; the Syracuse Civil Commendation in 2006, the District Attorneys Citizen Community Service Award in 2007, Volunteer Certified Recognition Award in 2008 for 18 years of service for his work with the Oxford Inn programs, and the Diocesan Immaculata Award in 2015. Hank is married to Patrice Downes Centore of Scranton, Pennsylvania. They have five children and 11 grandchildren. He enjoys family trips to Cape Cod, the Adirondacks, Ireland, Scotland, ski trips in Vermont, and attending events for his grandchildren.

Sharon Owens
Deputy Mayor, City of Syracuse
In her current position as Deputy Mayor, Sharon Owens oversees city programs and services that address quality of life in our community, including Neighborhood and Business Development and Parks, Recreations, and Youth Programs, as well as the Police and Fire Departments. Owens also serves as Chief of Staff to the Mayor. Owens served as the third CEO of Syracuse Model Neighborhood Facility, Inc. and previously worked for the City of Syracuse as Deputy Commissioner of Neighborhood and Business Development from 2010 to 2013 during the Miner Administration. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Greater Syracuse HOPE Initiative, the Consensus Commission on Local Government Modernization, and the I-81 Community Stakeholder Committee. In 2015, Owens received “The Kathy” Award from the Gifford Foundation, which recognized her commitment to establishing community-impacting advocacy. She is a graduate of Syracuse University and is most proud of her role as wife to Shaun Owens and mother to Simone and Isaac.
