Pinwheels for Prevention

by Gracie Barney, Community Relations Specialist

April is National Child Abuse Prevention month. This month encourages communities to increase awareness, provide resources, educate, and support to families. It’s important that communities and familes work together to prevent child abuse and neglect.

In 2008, the pinwheel became the national symbol to represent child abuse prevention. During the month of April, our Educational Services department staff and clients took action by coloring and decorating pinwheels to raise awareness for this important cause.
