Thank you to everyone who supported our Salt City Shaker on October 18th! A wonderful group gathered at the CNY Philanthropy Center Ballroom to learn about Catholic Charities’ services and to celebrate Maria Maldonado-Lewis, our Mover & Shaker of 2018. We were thrilled to honor Maria, who shared in her speech about her life experiences and how much it means to her to be able to support the residents of her hometown. Congratulations, Maria!
At the event, we had two important challenges from a donor. An anonymous donor had pledged $1,500 if we sold 150 tickets and a further $1,500 if the guests at the event could raise $1,500. Thanks to our guests, we not only met, but exceeded both challenges! That’s an additional $3,000 for our programs reducing poverty in Syracuse. We can’t express our gratitude enough!
